Self-Destructing Messages

Automatic deletion after time expires or conditions are met

In Short

Messages programmed to automatically delete after a specified time period or after being read, ensuring no permanent record exists.

Explained

Self-destructing messages reduce the window of exposure for sensitive communications. Unlike manual deletion (which may leave traces), properly implemented self-destruction ensures messages cannot be recovered after they expire.

How zkChat Implements This

zkChat offers multiple self-destruct mechanisms: rooms can expire after 5 minutes to 24 hours, rooms auto-destroy 5 seconds after emptying, one-time messages delete after single read, and the 'burn room' feature instantly destroys everything.
